BNP reports Tk22.19cr income, Tk15.26cr expenditure to EC
The ruling BNP today (19 July) submitted its
audited annual financial report to the Election Commission (EC).
According to the report, the party recorded a
total income of Tk22,19,65,182 and a total expenditure of Tk15,26,10,857,
leaving a surplus of Tk6,93,54,325 in its party fund.
A three-member BNP delegation, led by Senior
Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, submitted the report to the EC
Secretariat.
The delegation also included Treasurer and State
Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat and Assistant
Office Secretary Monir Hossain.
The delegation handed over the party's audited
annual financial statement to EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Hossain.
Political parties typically report income from
membership fees, donations, and the sale of nomination forms.
Expenditure mainly covers organisational
activities, political programmes, office maintenance, staff salaries, and
support for distressed party leaders and activists.
Talking about local government elections, Rizvi
said the question of who can contest the polls falls under the jurisdiction of
the Election Commission and courts.
He added that the party's national council will
be held soon.
He mentioned that the BNP submitted its annual
financial report before the 31 July deadline.
