The Fifa World Cup Round of 16 serves up another heavyweight contest on Sunday (6 July) as Brazil face Norway, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake and the spotlight firmly on Vinícius Júnior and Erling Haaland after their impressive starts to the tournament.

The two forwards represent contrasting styles of football. While Vinícius dazzles with flair, dribbling and creativity, Haaland thrives on power, precision and ruthless finishing. Different in almost every aspect of their game, both carry the hopes of their nations into the knockout clash.

Vinícius has scored four goals for Brazil, finding the net in all three group-stage matches and earning the Player of the Match award each time. His performances have drawn comparisons with Brazilian greats Romário, Ronaldo and Rivaldo. Although he failed to score in Brazil's Round of 32 win over Japan, he remained Brazil's biggest attacking threat and came close to producing one of the goals of the tournament.

Haaland, meanwhile, has made an immediate impact in his first World Cup, helping Norway return to football's biggest stage after a 28-year absence. The Manchester City striker has already scored five goals to move ahead of Vinícius in the Golden Boot race.

He has also scored in each of Norway's last 13 competitive matches, netting 25 goals during that run.

With two of world football's brightest stars leading the line, the Brazil-Norway encounter promises to be defined as much by the battle between Vinícius and Haaland as by the race for a place in the last eight.
