Bangladesh sends 600kg mangoes to Tripura CM, senior officials
The Bangladesh government has sent 600kg of Himsagar and
Amrapali mangoes as a goodwill gift to Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and
other senior officials of the Indian state.
The consignment reached Agartala
through Akhaura Land Port in Brahmanbaria yesterday (30 June). Customs
clearance was handled by C&F agent Suweb Trade International.
According to land port sources,
Bangladesh sends mangoes every year as a goodwill gift to the Tripura chief
minister and other senior state government officials. In return, the Tripura
government sends its Queen variety pineapples to the prime minister of
Bangladesh.
The 600kg consignment, packed in 120 cartons, will be distributed to Manik Saha
and other officials through the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in
Agartala.
Rajib Bhuiyan, proprietor of Suweb
Trade International, said the mangoes were cleared through customs and handed
over to the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission for distribution.
